UPDATE: Odrick did not break has leg but instead his foot on the opposite leg that was broken prior. Tony Sparano did not indicate that Odrick would placed on IR but did say that he would be out a long time.
So much for waiting. The Dolphins top pick in last April’s draft will have to wait to get back on the field. Jared Odrick suffered a broken leg in practice yesterday that will shelf the DE until next season. Odrick was reportedly recovered from a hairline fracture of his fibula that he suffered in game one against Buffalo. He only this week began practicing full time with the first unit.
The Dolphins hoped to have him available this week against Pittsburgh but that plan is now out the window. The Dolphins will likely use a combination of DE’s that include Kendall Langford, Ryan Baker, and NT/DE Randy Starks moving forward. It’s unknown if the team will sign a free agent DE to replace Odrick.
It’s unclear what leg he broke.
