Here is what we know heading into the Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears:
Chad Pennington – Pennington is done for the year and likely his career. Speculation has been, at least from the fans, that he would be a good fit as a QB coach in Miami next year and beyond. Several local media reporters think otherwise and that Pennington may stay on as a consultant of sorts but doesn’t want to coach at this level.
Chad Henne - His knee is sore and he could miss a couple of weeks. He will likely be the E3 QB this week and next with Tyler Thigpen and Patrick Ramsey ahead of him. However, if it gets to Henne, the Dolphins will simply run the ball or run the WC. So I don’t expect him to play.
Cameron Wake - Wake is fine and will play this week and is expecting a big game against a poor offensive line.
Chris Clemons - Clemons has missed two days of practice this week and is listed as questionable. Reshad Jones is in line to start his first game. Last week he had his first sack, first pass defense, and first interception. All in one series.
Jake Long - Long has a torn Labrum due to his separated shoulder. He returned to practice yesterday without a harness. Local media are being told that Long is not taking this injury smartly and that he could be doing more damage to his long term career by trying to be a tough guy. This is a similar injury to the one that Justin Smiley had. Long is going to play and try and play out the rest of the season as well, but the Dolphins should seriously think about risking that investment.
