Rock The All-Star Vote

Cameron Wake may not be a Pro-Bowler? Jake Long not the top vote getting LT in the AFC? Dan Carpenter is behind Sebastian Janikowski?  Karlos Dansby is behind Jerod Mayo?  Yes, yes, yes, and YES!  These are your Miami Dolphins and they represent the best chance for Dolphins representation in this years Pro-Bowl but none of them are the leading vote getters with four days remaining in the fan polling.

For Jake Long, it could be the first time since 2008, his rookie season that he would not be on the Pro-Bowl team.  There is no way he will play in that game as he will likely have shoulder surgery at the end of the season.  Still, do you think that Michael Oher should be in front of him?  All because of a movie?  Oher is good but he isn’t Jake Long good.  Neither is leading LT vote getter Andrew Whitworth of Cincinnati.  Honestly, I have no idea who the guy is.

For Cameron Wake, it’s an absolute joke that the guy isn’t the leading vote getter in the AFC.  But here he is mired behind James Harrison the leading vote getter…he likely needs the extra dough to pay off his season of fines, Terrell Suggs, Lamar Woodley, and Shaun Phillips.  Wake by the way only leads the NFL in sacks with 14.  Not the AFC mind you, the entire NFL.  Oh, and for what it’s worth, none of those in front of him are in the top 5 statistically of any category.

Dan Carpenter was last years AFC kicker but this year he is behind not just Janikowski, but also Adam Vinatieri and Rob Bironas.  Carpenter is 2nd in the NFL in field goals, behind Philly’s David Akers.  Janikowski is tied for 4th and Bironas is 8th.  In scoring, Carpenter if 4th.  5 points behind Janikowski.  But get this, he has only 19 of his points coming from extra points.  Go figure.

Karlos Dansby is a little harder to defend here.  Jerod Mayo leads the league in tackles and Dansby is way down at 23 and even further on the sack and INT list.  So while this is understandable despite his name recognition.  He has been playing very solid football and some in the media believe that he is playing better than he did in Arizona where he went to the Pro-Bowl on the NFC squad.

So what does all this mean? It means you need to vote as many times as you can in the next 4 days and ROCK THIS VOTE!!!  You can vote here.
