The Miami Dolphins will be sending Cameron Wake and Jake Long to Hawaii this year as starters on the 2011 AFC Pro-Bowl team. For Long it continues his streak of consecutive PB’s dating back to his rookie season of 2008. For Cameron Wake, it’s a first time affair that he won’t likely miss.
The Dolphins and the NFL sack leader gets the nod opposite James Harrison of Pittsburgh while Long joins Joe Thomas of Cleveland at tackle. However, Long won’t participate in this years event as he will likely have surgery on his shoulder following next weeks final game. he will be replaced by Jets tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson who was the non-starter.
Alternates have not been announced yet.
The Dolphins did not place Karlos Dansby or Dan Carpenter on the starting list and some believed they were deserving. However Dansby missed out to Jerod Mayo of New England and Ray Lewis of the Ravens while Billy Cundiff of Baltimore will be the rep at kicker.
Today the Dolphins also terminated the contracts of WR Kevin Curtis and back-up center Eric Ghiaciuc. They added offensive tackle Allen Barbre and linebacker Mike Rivera. Rivera was a member of the Packers practice squad.
Talk about this and a lot more tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern time as we fire up the internet radio for another edition of “On the Fin Side” on Finsradio.net.
