As the season ended on the most sour note possible for the Miami Dolphins, questions pertaining to the future of the Miami Dolphins quickly came about. The seat of Head Coach Tony Sparano was on fire, as was that of GM Jeff Ireland. Owner Stephen Ross was out of the country, so Miami fans were left to wait for an answer…….and we fans are still waiting!
Rumors have been flying around Miami non-stop, but news of what decision, if any, has not been made public. Everyone still has a job to this point, and fans are still wondering one way or another what is going to happen. Is everyone staying? Is everyone going? Is Ireland staying and Sparano going? Is Henning out? Nothing……not one answer. How much longer must we wait?
About 10 days ago I tied Jim Harbargh to the head coaching vacancy in Miami should there be one. It looks more and more likely that he will be headed elsewhere. The Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden rumors about Miami have ceased, and a lot of would be vacant head coach opportunities have not come true. Teams like the Jaguars, Bengals, and Texans have decided to keep their guys, and they let their fan bases know about it. When do Miami fans get their answer?
Another team singing the same song and dance is the Tennessee Titans. The verdict of whether or not Jeff Fisher will be returning to Tennessee or not has not been announced. Could this be what Miami is waiting for? Could Ross be waiting to see what happens in Tennessee because he wants Jeff Fisher? When are the fans going to know? How long must we wait?
