Offensive Coordinator - Possibly Brad Childress

The Miami Herald is now reporting that former Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress has scheduled to interview for the OC position with the Dolphins.  This could be very good news as he brings experience of the West Coast Offense with him and an aggressive style of offense that the team desperately lacks right now.

Of course this was the same HC that brought back Brett Favre and struggled with him this season and eventually was fired by the Vikings.  But in my opinion, bringing him on would be very positive and could finally be the piece to the puzzle.  Maybe not.  But right now I’m sure you will agree that it would be damned refreshing compared with interviewing the San Diego Chargers Tight-Ends Coach, Rob Chudzinski for the job….  Or even John Garrett of the Dallas Cowboys.

Here is the question to you the reader: Who should the Dolphins be interviewing for the Offensive Coordinator position?

The Dolphins should consider Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator. McDaniels is a young, but experienced offensive coordinator who could provide the offense with a much needed spark.

Yes Josh McDanials ALL THE WAY! Childress is a good runnerup. But grabbing an ancient Farve twice shows he is not into developing young talent. McDaniels would be a MUCH better OC and Fit for the Fins.

As a lifelong Vikes fan and 25 years Dolphins fan as adopted hometown team, I shudder at the thought of Chilly becoming OC for the Fins! This man alienated ALL of Minneapolis and most of his team before he was shown the door. Don’t do it!

I say bring back the run n shoot offense damn it !! Now that’s entertaining and explosive.

Michael Leach Tx Tech or Greg Knapp from Houston

now, that’s actually the smartest comment I have seen in a while. Both of these guys can create explosive offenses. That said, you will always hear naysayers barking at the lack of pro-experience. I would give Leach a shot and see what he has to say…at least interview for the gig.

McDaniels would be my top choice.

Moderator..just tried to replay, and it was rejected because I used the word “Tex*s, as in the STATE!!!

What gives. am I back at the Herald?

    • imawriterrobj

      Sorry, meant “reply.”

  • Randy C

I have not even herd a whisper of the name
Rick Dennison (Texans)the man has done a very good job
with very little to work with and he is up for grabs.

McD doesn’t play well with others. Particularly Marshall and Nolan. Who knows if that would change since he wouldn’t be in the HC position.

Chilly or Chud are the best of the lot that are being interviewed IMO.

  • C.I. Flannigan

Chud took Derek Anderson to the Pro Bowl…’nuff said!

While Chud and some of the people mentioned as possible oc’s are good, what Miami needs is someone who would motivate the guys, help build confidence. They need someone who will ignite fire in the lockroom. an OC who will run a strong offense, west coast, power….we need something stronger than what we’ve seen, we need a bright mind, a system that is going to be explosive. a system designed to help score points. We need an oc that will let the qb audible and encourage him to do so.
