Press Conference Called For 12:30

The Miami Dolphins will officially announce Brian Daboll as the new offensive coordinator today at 12:30 at the training center in Davie, Fl.  Daboll has been met with harsh criticism over the last few days since it was unofficially brought to light that he would in fact become the next OC.  Replacing the aging and more despised Dan Henning.

Since that first leak of info, Daboll has found quite a bit of promising comments eminating from sources within the NFL circles.

Today, the Phins will make that official and with it will come the tedious job ahead of finding the pieces to put on the field to not only fix the offense but install what many believe will be a new offensive philosophy as well.

It’s unclear if Daboll or Sparano will go into much detail of their plans to fix the team, but I am certain a few questions will be thrown their way to that effect.

The press conference will be broadcast live on

Did you happen to see the stats during Sunday’s game telecast of the NY Jets victory over the New England Patriots regarding NE before and after Spygate?

Prior to the Spygate revelation the Patriots were 12-2 in post-season play under Belichick and Tom Brady won 9 straight playoff games and 3 Championships.

Since Spygate, that seasons “Perfect” conclusion, the Patriots have failed to win a playoff game.

Just saying.

UPDATE: I wanted to stay on the NE front for a moment.  Apparently, the Patriots can’t simply let go of the fact that they lost and have been losing since the Spygate issue came to life…or at least can’t win in the playoffs.  The new “rumour d’ jour” out of Boston is that Tom Brady had a fractured foot and that was one of the reasons the team may have lost.  At least it deflects away from “Bill Belichick can’t win without a video camera”. I’m just saying.

What?? Patriots went to Superbowl in 2007 so they at least won a couple of games since then. They are also 52-14 with an undefeated regular season since then. Lot more than the Dolphins can say….

  • Dan

What you’re “just saying” makes no sense. Not only did the Patriots go to the Superbowl in 2007 (presumably when people would have been most alert for more video-taping, thus making it very unlikely that any more occurred), as noted by John, they have had 16, 11, 10, and 14 wins in the seasons since then, the 11 coming when Tom Brady was injured for nearly the entire season. To claim that the Patriots can’t win without a video camera ignores nearly everything there is to know about the Patriots over the past few years.

You’ll also note that the Spygate fiasco occurred during the regular season, so to then transpose inferences drawn from it onto the playoffs and somehow claim that regular season victories don’t mean anything is even more ridiculous. As a writer for this blog you arguably represent Dolphins fans, including myself, and posts like this just make you, and by association me, seem ignorant and unintelligent.

Brian—You sound like a miserable Dolphin fan talking about the Pats inability to win? Worry about your own miserable team and stop trashing the Pats. BB can win 14 regular season games including beating every playoff team remaining, but can’t win in the playoffs without a camera? Moron and typical jealous dolphin fan.
