WTF – OJ Signs With The Redskins

I know I am mad late in catching up with what has been going on for the past few weeks (I have been placed on the Phinphantic IR list), but the first thing I wanted to do was express my frustration once again on the lack of motivation of going after O.J.

OJ is now paired with one of the best athletes in the NFL; LaRon Landry.  OJ does have huge shoes to fill replacing the best Free Safety that I have ever had the privilege to watch – Sean Taylor.  By adding OJ, the Redskins have loaded their secondary with elite playmakers that already include Hall, and Rogers.

    Elite playmaker???

    Uhh… No

The only people who are jumping on the get a safety bandwagon are the ones who aren’t paying attention. Clemons and Jones played well last season and both have a lot of upside they have yet to reach. Atogwe is far from “elite” and simply put isn’t worth the money you’re going to spend when you already have two good, developing young players there. Remember this D finished 6th in the league last year with a bunch of first, second and third year players and they are only going to get better as they get more comfortable in Nolan’s system. Offense is what we need to spend our time worrying about.

The D finished 6th in the league based on the front 8, not the secondary my friend.

Besides the fumble by Clemons, name one other game changing play that was made my our safeties

Pffffttt!! For every big play Atogwe makes, he gives up 5 more. He’s already lost a step, and he’ll be out of the league when he loses another step. Do you really think it’s a good idea to spend our dollars at FS when Clemons and Jones took major steps forward last year?

Cat – please elaborate on what you mean by Clemons taking major steps?
Was it when he dropped numerous INTs (Ciny Oak)
Are you referring to when he was schooled on over the top help? (Green Bay)
Or how about tackling high and allowing the player to get by him (Pitt, Detriot,)

Jones only had one great game against the Titans, where was he the rest of the season?
