In many of my recent articles, I have discussed the Dolphins trading down in the first round.  If no one wants to trade down, I have suggested that they make a safe pick by selecting one of the top tier offensive tackles.  But, who may be a first round sleeper pick by the Dolphins?

May I introduce to you Ryan Kerrigan, DE out of Purdue.  Or, may I suggest the Dolphins new 3-4 OLB opposite of Cameron Wake.  Yes, I know … we all pray the Dolphins will not take a defensive player.  But, if you are going for value at this pick, please look at this guys’ stats.

Regardless of how good the player is, he doesn’t help the offense score points. The defense is not the problem, its the offense. OLBs are available late in the draft. Ireland will be crucified if the 1st round pick isn’t offense.

By the way, I agree. I just have a strange feeling that they are in nowheresville with the 15th pick. And, I fear they may just do something stupid. That is why I brought Kerrigan up!
