Well according to the news, not long now and we may just have something to cheer for regarding the NFL, but while we wait, here’s another bio from the MMU Eagles. This player has been around American Football a couple of years playing at the youth level and his experience was needed last year and very valuable he played the “spur” in our 3-5-3 defense and played some outstanding football so here is Glenn “red” Herring..
name: Glenn Herring
DOB: 6th August 1985
HOMETOWN: Leicester, England
Weight: 81kgs – 178lbs
Position: Wide Receiver/Defensive Back/Spur (OLB)
Why American Football?
I just love the tactical and physical aspects of the sport.
What you enjoy most about playing?
The things I enjoy most is winning, however that is not always possible. the banter with friends is also very high on the list
What you get from it?
Drive and motivation to succeed not only in the game but outside in everyday life as well.
The NFL lockout and how it affects you being English?
I think the lockout is close to being ridiculous now. albeit players, owners and all included deserve the right payment its now bordering greed and is beyond what each deserve and is more of who can have more. being English it affects the way we can watch any form of American Football! although college ball is on ESPN it is not as well broadcast in the UK as in the USA so without the NFL, American Football will lose support from the UK to which it is a country where it is beginning to blow up and become very popular!
With the possibility of the NFL coming back it’s imnportant for everyone but with the following being fragile over here something like missed games or a season could and would be very damaging to the fan base over here.
