The Miami Dolphins are in stare down mode with the Denver Broncos over Kyle Orton, but according to Aaron Fentress, The Oregonian , the Dolphins are set to sign former Carolina Panther QB Matt Moore. Aaron Fentress is not familiar to me nor is the Oregonian, but Matt Moore was a product of Oregon State so there is a connection.
According to the report, linked above, Moore will sign a deal that will pay him around 5 million over 2 years. Playing incentives could push the deal north of 7 million.
Matt Moore is a QB that was on my list of possibilities entering free agency. Moore has starting experience and decent upside but is still a work in progress. The potential is there. In Miami he would be competing with Chad Henne but in all likelihood would serve as his back-up at least to start the season.
Will let you know if we hear anything else.
