The Miami Dolphins found another acorn today when they added K.J. Gerard to the roster. Gerard is a DB who spent time with the Ravens and Bears. The Bears released him last week. He has not appeared in an NFL game.
The move comes on the heels of news that rookie LB Mark Masterson retired. The team placed him on the reserve/retired list. Another case of a young guy coming to grips that the NFL just isn’t the place for him. The lights, glimmer, and hope gives way to reality when some realize the crazy amount of work they do to get ready to play the game. Or it could simply have been the heat of south Florida.
Update: The Dolphins also added LB David Nixon who has been with the Raiders, Rams, and Texans.
