Crowder Speaks The Truth

Crowder speaks the truth

This is just my opinion, but you have to love the call from Channing Crowder on Chad Henne.  It was perfect.  Honestly, I completely agree with the following statement:

“As of what I’ve seen so far? No. I played with him a couple years … He really hasn’t proven anything to me when I played with him and now being on this side, looking down on him as a fan, he’s not impressing me, either. He has all the tangibles, I want to say, arm strength … he can make some good throws, but the intangibles, the winning the game, wanting to have everything on his shoulders, like the Bradys and like the Mannings, and wanting to be down by five with a minute left on the 20-yard-line, let’s see what happens, he doesn’t have that in his heart yet, and I think it will be hard for him to win, but like I said the proof’s in the pudding, so if he comes out this year and going crazy, I’ll have my foot in my mouth, but, if I was a betting man, I wouldn’t bet on him going crazy.”

Best part of that quote is the following section:

“but the intangibles, the winning the game, wanting to have everything on his shoulders, like the Bradys and like the Mannings, and wanting to be down by five with a minute left on the 20-yard-line, let’s see what happens, he doesn’t have that in his heart yet”

I think he spoke on behalf of all the Dolphins fans that have seen Henne’s  resume so far.  Besides the Monday night game against the Jets,  I have been disappointed with his development, and now we can see that some of the players don’t believe the hype either.

Do you agree with Crowders thoughts?

    No vote from me.

In my opinion a defensive guy should be the last to criticize an offensive guy. Given the fact Crowder has been cut from the team, now gives him incentive to badmouth his former teammates. Yeah, right!

Aside from his mouth overloading his talent, just another reason he should be unemployed! Best move the Fins made all year!

I understand what you are saying. How can you judge a position without ever playing the position? You can never have a true assessment.

But, if you play against a player every day you learn certain tendencies that can help you identify if a player has the ‘it’ factor. We have seen this in the past about a few defensive players making remarks against opposing players. If you watched the Top 100 Players on the NFL Network you could see players commenting on the player. Brandon Marshall presenting Darell Revis is a perfect example.

@Bahamas No wrath or fury worse than a scorned woman or an unemployed mediocre NFL linebacker.

If the OL continues it’s horrid play, it won’t matter who is back there. I think Henne is as good or better than Sanchez. Sanchez has far more support. Having said that, I honestly think that Henne is too slow with his feet. Today’s NFL has teams blitzing in so many different ways that it is impossible to block everyone on every play and requires the QB to string the play out or take off and run. Henne cannot do this and will not be able to do so because you can’t learn shear foot speed. So Henne is extra dependent on the OL.

My main problem is w/ the phins aquisition department. I give credit for Marshall, Bush, and LB but how many free agents could we have picked up cheap? Moss 2 yrs ago for a 3rd or 4th i forget exactly, Ocho, Cotchery, Vince Young, Haynesworth, Burress. I think we are getting our butts kicked in the off season frankly.

This coming from a man that couldn’t be a leader on a practice squad (yet!)
