New England Claims Former Miami Dolphin

If Tony Sparano was hoping that LB A.J. Edds was going to clear waivers, then maybe he should have thought twice about snatching TE Will Yeatman from New England.  Sparano cut Edds yesterday in favor of TE Dante’ Rosario…instead of, well you know, cutting a TE.  Today, A.J Edds learned that he would not be unemployed long as the New England Patriots were awarded the former Phins backer.

It’s doubtful that Edds will be able to provide much in the way of knowledge towards next Monday’s showdown to start the season but it never hurts to give it a try.  The Patriots have added two players to their roster today, Edds and Dan Gronkowski a TE recently released from Denver.  Gronkowski will join a crowded New England team of TE’s that consist of Aaron Hernandez and Dan Gronkowski’s brother Rob.

Topics: AJ Edds, Dan Gronkowski, Dante Rosario, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Tony Sparano, Will Yeatman

Gee, never saw that one coming. UGH!~

I am convinced that NE has a sincere interest in upgrading the LB corp and is willing to spend more time developing the kid than Tony was. I hated the cut and hate this signing more! IMO, Tony made a poor decision (again). There are plenty of guys on the roster with less promise than what AJ brought to the game.

people will always find a reason to hate on tony Sparano. You have no clue if he is hurt or not. He was brought in to defend the pass and looked pretty bad in the preseason doing it. He did very well against the run.I would have liked to kept him also but he suffered a season ending injury in preseason last year that would have doomed him on most teams.@fins4ever

how many mediocore TE’s do we have now? 5 i think. releasing Edds with Columbo, Jerry,Mitchell, and Spitler is assinine. i try to stay positive but it gets harder every time management makes a move. IMO will allen looked good enough to play the slot. No try for meriweather, a real TE, RG or RT. now the pats get to use Edds in a way that we could’ve used meriweather. they’ll know what he knows by monday night.
