The Top 10 Reasons Dolphins Signed Sage Rosenfels

I tried to get some local news guy to read these out loud, in the tradition of David Letterman, but alas if you read them aloud you are only reading them to yourself.  Make sense? I’m still a little confused over the whole Sage Rosenfels signing to replace Chad Henne.  Rosenfels was on the team in 2005 or 6 years ago.  I mean, I realize that Brodie Croyle and Trent Edwards are not answers and that David Garrard and Jake Delhomme laughed in the phone before hanging up, but Rosenfels?  Really.

So I figured I would find ten reasons the Dolphins opted for Rosenfels.

Number 10 – They couldn’t pry Dante’ Culpepper away from his Dorito bags.  Besides, Culpepper wants to practice go on IR only for Nick Saban.

Number 9 – Dan Marino refused to come out of the television booth saying that the offensive line was just too horrible.

Number 8 – It’s the Dolphins new way to sell tickets, they have tried retro jersey’s now they are trying retro players.

Number 7 – He was an adequate back-up back then too

Number 6 – Ireland received a personal vote of confidence from Rick Spielman in Minnesota.

Number 5 – Sean Payton of the Saints turned down the offer of Nolan Carroll and Marc Columbo for Drew Brees

Number 4 – Ireland likes the herb

Number 3 – Trent Green still hasn’t been cleared by the med team

Number 2 – Pat White is tied up for the winter prepping to shovel the driveways of Dan Henning and Bill Parcells

and finally the number 1 reason that the Dolphins signed Sage Rosenfels, Ireland still couldn’t swing a deal for Kyle Orton.
