Head Coach Decision Coming Today For Dolphins

Oh how the internet it buzzing this morning.  Armando Salguero said that Joe Philbin, according to a guest on his radio show this morning, will not be handed the keys to the Miami Dolphins.  Leaving interim HC Todd Bowles and Denver OC Mike McCoy as the remaining candidates.  Now, word is spreading from several people that Stephen Ross is in flight to Miami for what should be an announcement of the head coach sometime this afternoon.

After speaking with one of my sources, it appears that Dolphins are ready to announce Mike McCoy as the Dolphins next HC…although he cautions that no word from the top has officially been given.  It does however make sense as if the report from Salguero’s show is correct McCoy would surely be the top candidate.  He was flying back to Denver last night following an 8 hour interview with Ross and Ireland.

Yesterday reports from Chris Mortensen surfaced that the Dolphins were split three ways on the coaching candidates with Ross wanting Philbin, Ireland wanting McCoy, and Carl Peterson serving as an advisor tellilng Ross he should interview more people including Marty Schottenheimer and Brian Billick.  Although that was never confirmed to be the case.

For now, we wait for official word out of Miami, but according to others on Twitter, the hiring of McCoy is only a matter of time as their sources are telling them it’s McCoy as well.

I’m warning Mr. Ross. He puts McCoy as head coach, I will be a Giants fan. Dan Marino won’t be able to keep me after this.

    @Solphins Good riddance!

I’m sure Mr. Ross really gives a shit what you think Solphins. Let’s give our team some support. It’s not Ross’s or Ireland’s fault we’ve floundered for the last decade. Ross is doing everything he can to right the ship. If fans like you want to pull for other teams good riddance.

If McCoy is named the head coach, I think we can take one thing from what he has done in Denver. Whether you think he did a good thing or not, McCoy proved that he can be versatile and adapt to the talent that he has available to him. I think that he possesses all of the characteristics that Ross said he wanted, the problem is that many of us are painting him “Tim Tebow’s Coach”. I’m going to be excited regardless of the choice, just make the choice!!!

@stevehoffart Being versatile and adapt would be good, if he actually did it. I watched every game this year the broncos played and he destroyed Tim Tebow. If anything Tebow made him look good, not the other way around. We are getting Dan Henning’s apprentice… that should have been enough to say no… just say no.

@neilfeller Ross is being stupid… I will not support stupid. I have been giving my team support threw all of this, as a Buckeye, i knew getting Ginn was stupid, but I supported it. I knew getting all these cowboys players was stupid, but supported… Hope is all that the Dolphins fans have had for years, but this takes any hope we had away.

The fact that he didn’t even interview Pete Carmichael Jr, means that keeping Ireland happy was more important then his team. Every front runner the Dolphins had as head coach had some tie to Ireland. the man is a cancer that has spread to the head, leaving poor Mr. Ross in a catatonic state.

@Solphins No way did Tebow make him look good!!! That clown tossing duck farts all over the field made football look bad. Don’t forget they had the number one rushing offence in the league with an afterthought RB. Changed the whole offensive playbook and strategy midway through the season. Also, lost his number one WR for a completely unproven Thomas. Finally, pretty sure he never worked with or near Henning. Anyway, last time you’ll here from me, cya!

I will make it easy for everyone.

Broncos fans: glad to see Mike McCoy go.

Packers fans: don’t care if Philbin leaves.

Saints fans: do not want to see Pete Carmichael Jr. leave.

Every Broncos fan wants to see McCoy leave. They all say what I say, he is a horrible play caller. This might help the Dolphins, depending if he gets someone that calls the plays and he keeps his face out of the offense, but that won’t happen.

Probably not going to be a popular decision. It’s Sporano version 2….

I could be wrong, but McCoy doesn’t seem to bring the explosive offense that would be required to keep pace with NE.

On a funny note: Mike McCoy currently is 2nd all-time in the CFL in career completion percentage (min. 100 attempts) at 63.9% and 2nd all-time single game completion percentage with 85%. No bearing on his coaching ability, but he does sit higher on that list than Jeff Garcia, Warren Moon, and Darren Flutie.

WOW thats all I can say,..this owner & management are truely clueless, look how bad we are in stats & lets hire coaches with worse stats!! Just as we did with the OC last off-season. Philbin was obviously the better choice & had stats to back that up. Is Ross the owner from those Major League movies?? I am done unless we trade up for Luck you wont see me at any games, & Indy is not goin to trade that pick! F.U. Ross you are the worst owner period!
