Good-Bye Joe!

In the end, it was a heart attack and not the cancer he was battling that led to the death of Joe Paterno.   Simply put, he died today of a broken heart.  Stress and cancer treatment likely played roles in his end, but nothing can take away the accomplishments he made on the field and the contributions to enrich the lives of the players that called him Joe-Papa.

Today the sports world says good-bye to another sports icon.  Earlier this week, the snowboarding community lost pioneer Sarah Burke.  This however is about Joe-Pa.  May you rest in peace and more importantly, find peace.

    Hey Brian,

Sarah was a freestyle-skier, who worked tirelessly to get the half-pipe included in the Olympics for skiers. She was successful and will be missed greatly, especially when her event debuts in Sochi in 2014.

Let’s hope JoePa’s legacy isn’t forever remember only for how it ended!
