The NFL Combine has already started in Indianapolis, Indiana. But, the featured events of the Combine will start on Saturday and go thru Tuesday with workouts by NFL prospects divided up by position. If you choose to watch it on the NFL Network or follow the news, the Dolphins Interests at the NFL Combine will likely focus on positions of need and positions that lack depth.
The 2012 in-person review of NFL prospects began with the January 28th Senior Bowl to include its workouts the week before. Now, a month later, it is the NFL Combine. Roughly a month from now, there will be various Pro Days at colleges and universities. For example, March 22nd will be the Boise State Pro Day which will feature eight NFL prospects to include six who could make up nearly 10% of the prospects selected on the second day of the 2012 NFL Draft — George Iloka (S), Doug Martin (RB), Shea McClellan (OLB), Tyrone Crawford (DE), Billy Wynn (DT), and Nate Potter (OT) — Kellen Moore (QB) and Tyler Shoemaker (WR) may be day three selections. The 2012 NFL Draft will start on April 26th.
The NFL Combine has already some results of interest prior to the actual workout days starting on Saturday. Most all participants had their height, weight, hand size, and arm length measured. This is worthwhile and of interest because these measures are done without biased allowing equal comparisons amongst the participants. For example, Robert Griffin III did measure out at legit NFL QB size of 6′ 2.375″ in height and 223 lbs in weight. Also, participants at the Combine have begun the valuable interviewing process.
