Unbelievably, the Dolphins, it has just been reported through ESPN, have failed to
land Matt Flynn also and he will sign with Seattle for a 3-year deal reportedly worth about $9 million per year.
The spin machine in Miami is going to need turbo in order to sell this one.
Meanwhile, the Fins are talking with David Garrard and Alex Smith….
Word is though that Miami was leading in the search and prospects were looking, “very good” to land him as he wanted to work with Joe Philbin but the offer received by Miami may have been very conservative and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Seattle “stepped up” and landed the free agent QB. See, when it looked like they were going to fail, they upped their game instead and then they succeeded (hint to owner Stephen Ross and Jeff Ireland).
The deal signed was apparently worth $26 million with $10 million guaranteed over a 3-year contract. So do you now feel more reassured that the Dolphins are on the right track or less?
As a sidenote: it was noted also by Adam Schefter of ESPN prior to today that, “the Dolphins are the team to beat” concerning Matt Flynn.
