Thank you Gene. This denigration of our teams GM by the "media" and those gullible enough to be believe every word they print has also bothered me. And thank you for being the only one man enough to stand behind your words and admit when you make a mistake. There is also a matter of perspective here. "storied" franchises are built over years of growth not during 1 free agency. We have a young GM and now a new coach, and coaching philosophy, lets give them time to build their vision. If we decide after a few years we don't like their vision we can try and tear it all apart again and start over. But keep in mind this starting over every couple of years is what has gotten us to where we are today.

"When the media were proven wrong as to where Manning permanently landed, they (the media) had to blame somebody for their failure." - - - - - - - - - - - Hit the nail on the head. Most people can't see the forest for the trees. If this was not about football, and instead about something like predicting who a politician is choosing as a running mate, it would end with the predictor being laughed at that he was cluelessly wrong, and a big assumer, not a true political insider. But this is football! LOL. Passions run high, the media needs to be right all the time, and memories are short for fans. (Just look at those ridiculous mock drafts). In hindsight, you can see now that Manning never intended to come here, and simply worked the process to drive up the price. I don't care that he had a condo. Everyone has a condo here. I feel foolish believing it all, and will surely remember this going forward.
