Apparently, everyone, except me, knew it would happen. I really thought Ryan Tannehill would not be a Miami Dolphin. I was wrong, so wrong. Now, I accept him with open arms and wish him success beyond his wildest dreams.
If Jeff Ireland, Joe Philbin, and Mike Sherman agreed on Ryan, then there must be something there. I’ll half-heartedly accept their judgement and give it my undying support.
Now, for some venting. I have always been on Ireland’s side. He’s only been here since 2008, yet receives the brunt of two decades of frustration. I believe his drafting and free agent moves have been solid, yet unspectacular. In his four years, we have not had an elite quarterback, and that’s a huge handicap. They don’t grow on trees you know.
While most PhinPhanatics are trying to push Ireland off the boat, I was holding on to him. Today, I stand neutral. Jeff Ireland has married Ryan Tannehill.
If Tannehill becomes a star, our GM will win everyone over, except for those fans, so full of Ireland venom, that they will always give the credit to Stephen Ross.
If Tannehill doesn’t become a star, Ireland loses me but it really will not matter at that point because he will surely have lost a lot more.
It’s a bittersweet day for me but I am trying.
Welcome, Ryan Tannehill!
