It appears the Miami Dolphins were impressed enough with the 6-time Pro-bowler Chad Ochocinco to sign him to a one year deal. Well thats according to the a website that Ocho created in order to get NFL news to fans quicker. The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed but it could not possibly be for a ton of money after coming off his worse season ever.
The debate has been out the last few days since the announcement was made that Ocho would be working out for the Phins. His addition to the receiver corps can only improve the offense. He brings his veteran experience, his crisp route running and speed to an offense that really did not have a number 1 receiver. Ocho is still not a true number 1 but he is a bigger threat then most of the receivers Miami has on roster.
Ochocinco is also a plus for the upcoming “Hard Knocks” show which could only make it more entertaining with his off the wall antics. Miami is looking for anyway to boost ticket sales after last season’s almost record low sales. Ocho isn’t Peyton Manning or even Brandon Marshall popular but he will get the attention of more fans then the team had before this arrival.
All in all , the signing of Ochocinco is going to be ripped apart by some and praised by others, as it should because it is good and bad at the same time. It brings much needed talent and leadership to the receiving game in Miami, as well as press and fans. Unfortunately is also shows that the Phins knew they needed help in the receiver department and also that even though no one in the organization would ever admit it, Brandon Marshall is going to be missed and they are trying to replace their top tier, Pro-bowl MVP, Reception Team Leading receiver, trouble making(even though he was cleared of all wrong doing) diva with any one they can right now. Ocho is an improvement not matter what anyone says, but we should have never needed him to begin with
