Miami Dolphins Sign Chad Ochocinco

The Miami Dolphins have yet to release the details or even acknowledged the signing but according to Chad Ochocinco VIA his “Ocho News Network” the “Diva-Reciva” has signed a contract with the Dolphins.  Terms of course are not known but it is likely a one year non-guaranteed deal that would be for veteran minimum or perhaps a little more.

The big question now becomes how will Joe Philbin handle the addition of such a strong personality?  Last year in New England, Ocho was uncharacteristically quiet in the presence of Patriots coach Bill Belichick, however Philbin does not command that level of respect out of the gate in his first head coaching gig.  For fans, the questions are many more.

Does he still have anything to give at the age of 34?  Will he be a team player or a nightmare?  Will he reverse his name change and once again become Chad Johnson?

For Chad Ochocinco, the ability to play for the Dolphins or at the very least compete for a roster spot has been a lifelong dream that only now is realized.  A south Florida native, Ocho tried unsuccessfully to convince Bill Parcells to trade for the receiver and his flirtations publicly went largely unnoticed by members of the Dolphins management.  It’s odd that in his first year as a Dolphins HC, Philbin will have both HBO Hard Knocks and Ochocinco to deal with.
