The Miami Dolphins are getting ready to take on the Houston Texans in just under 90 minutes from now.  Wondering who will be active and inactive?  Here are the Dolphins inactive list.

Quarterback Pat Devlin isn’t much of a surprise.  If the Dolphins get down to needing a 3rd QB they have some serious issues elsewhere they will need to deal with.

Running back Lamar Miller will not start today and that seems like a bit of a surprise until you realize that he isn’t returning punts or kick-offs.  The Dolphins have Javorskie Lane, Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, and Marcus Thigpen who will be doing the special teams duties today.

Tackle Will Yeatman will be riding pine today in Houston and that’s understandable.  Yeatman has a lot of work to do this year to make it to Sunday’s active list.

Rey Feinga will join Yeatman as the only other offensive lineman on the inactive list.  He was recently re-signed after the injury to Artis Hicks.

LB Sammy Brown a rookie who was added as a waiver claim will sit out the opener.

WR Richard Mathews sitting out week 1 will not make some fans happy.  Matthews showed some of the best hands in pre-season but this isn’t pre-season anymore.  If Mathews can stick on the 53 man roster he will get his chance.

Finally, TE Michael Egnew will open the season on the inactive list.  He is lucky to have a spot on the teams’ 53 with the way he played this pre-season.  Egnew, who was highly touted as a pass catching TE in college has done nothing to show that he can catch at this level.

For the Texans, Arian Foster is active for Houston.  John Beck will be inactive.  At the time of this writing, Beck is the only inactive player released by the Texans.
