The Top Dolphins Trade Rumors Floating Around

The Miami Dolphins suddenly have talent available for trade or haven’t you heard?  No, nothing official.  Not even officially a rumor.  But if you peruse the galaxy known as the INTERN net you will find that someone’s sister’s boyfriend has a friend who’s father knows a guy that knows a girl who has a cousin twice removed that works for the Dolphins and knows for a fact that the Dolphins are working out a trade for someone.

You just know that information is completely true.

So here are some of the latest rumors that are not officially, you know rumors.

Jake Long – according to BoltBeat.com the Dolphins have been exploring the idea of trading Jake Long.  The article itself doesn’t mention anything specific but in the comments they claim it’s the Dolphins who have put him on the market.

Matt Moore – On Sunday, CBS pre-game made comments that indicated the Arizona Cardinals were talking trade with the Dolphins about QB Matt Moore.  Moore has been a frequent guest to the rumor mill this year after taking a backseat to rookie Ryan Tannehill.  He has also been rumored to be heading to Jacksonville, Cleveland, Dallas, and most recently Kansas City.

Dwayne Bowe – The Dewayne Bowe trade rumor would send a 3rd round draft pick and Matt Moore to KC for the big time WR.

Daniel Thomas – With Reggie Bush carrying the load and Lamar Miller almost ready to take over for Thomas, Thomas has been linked to Detroit, Chicago, and Green Bay.

While I am sure there are few more floating around that I simply missed, these are the bigger names showing up around the web on this lovely Monday morning that kicks off Jet week number 2.

The only rumor off of that list I would believe is Thomas and Moore. There is no way they would trade Long while the team has a very good shot at the playoffs, not to mention risk the health of Tannehill. As for trading for Bowe, while Miami has what is needed to pull of this trade, they simply could not afford another player who will be an FA at the end of the season. it simply would be an bad idea. I would say trading for Flowers or Berry would be more likely then a trade for Bowe.

jake long is gone after this season. build for the future. don’t let him walk for free. trade him now and get what you can. he is the 32nd best ol in the nfl and leads the dolphins in sacks.

miami does not have the cap to pay him 12 to 15 million next year and even if they did they are not going to do it. he does not fit this system.

I would normally agree with you. Get what you can get for him if they are not going sign him in the offseason.

However, because we have our new quarterback Tannehill in the lineup and we want him to continue to gain confidence rather than running for his life, I say keep Jake Long for as long as we can.

Next draft they can get another lineman to replace or maybe Long will take less but keep him as long as possible.

This is like fantasy football, which I don’t actually care to understand. Gafney, almost a month into learning the O scheme, hasn’t had a sniff of the field yet…why would we trade a pick and a very capable back-up QB to KC so Bowe might be useful in December? Gafney may have had some lingering injuries but learning a new O scheme takes a few weeks (in mid season and under the new CBA)…sometimes longer depending on the talent. I’m not sure Long will be a Phin next year but trading him now makes no sense on any level The real rumor behind Thomas is, “his third concussion this year was sustained while walking into a strong head wind.”
