NFL Mock Of The Week: Dolphins Select…

November 10, 2012; Tuscaloosa, AL, USA; Texas A

The Miami Dolphins are not eliminated from the playoffs yet and the draft is still months away.  In fact the end of the season is still three months from it’s Super Bowl wrap up party.  That doesn’t mean you can take crystal ball look into what might be.  And that is exactly what they are doing at FanSided.com.  This week, the “mockers” have rolled out a new NFL Mock Draft.  And the Dolphins, who currently are slated to pick 15th if the season ended today, selects…

15. Miami Dolphins – Dee Milliner|CB/Alabama

Miami has a pretty good run defense, and their offense is coming around. But they need some assistance in the secondary and Milliner is perhaps the best cornerback in the draft. He’s got great instincts, recognition skills and he is reliable in run support. Vontae Davis used to be the guy, Milliner is the future.

Personally, for me it’s too early to really dive into what the team will do once April rolls around but at least the position is right.  The Dolphins have more than enough needs heading into the Philbin year two parade.  Cornerback and Wide-Receiver are the most debated top needs of this draft.  The last time the Dolphins used a first round selection on a CB they drafted Vontae’ Davis.  You can expect character to come into play when the decision is made.

For now, take it with one of those early “grains of salt” notions but look at this as a player you may want to keep an eye on for the remaining college season.

Like Milliner, but, Long is history and we need to replace him. Hopefully, by drafting Matthews. Like I said, I like Milliner but he is a poor tackler and shys away at times. Great cover corner though.
