Dansby Released As Ireland Shocks NFL

Karlos Dansby is no longer a Miami Dolphin player.  About an hour ago, Jeff Ireland shocked the NFL when it was announced that Miami had stolen LB Dannell Ellerbe from the Baltimore Ravens.  The move came out of nowhere.

Dansby who ironically was one of the three members of the “leadership council” was never told of the move and found out shortly after the news broke.  His agent contacted the Dolphins and Dansby was granted his release a short time later.  For Miami, the move is a solid risk.  Ellerbe is only 28 years old compared to Dansby’s 32.  The contract on the surface for Ellerbe, 5 for 35 million seams very high but it actually is comparable to the leaving Dansby.  In other words, on the surface it’s a pretty even swap.

Dansby led the team in tackles last season but rarely made game changing plays over the course of his stay in Miami.  Ellerbe is just now reaching his prime.

The move to let Dansby goes leaves only Davone Bess from the “leadership council” with Jake Long visiting other teams and Reggie Bush is heading northward to visit Detroit.

Yeah! He’s shocking me in the process too, not with the moves he’s made but rather the ones he hasn’t. If the Woodson rumor is true, my hopes this management is serious will be gone… a big name for the ssake of getting a big name? I REALLY hope the Woodson rumors are just baseless rumors, because as it stands righ now, we have the football styling of Eggnew and the ever underused Clay at TE, and with only Keller left IMHO worth signing and a very shallow class in the draft, it’s starting to smell a bit.Meanwhile, back at the old homestead, at corner, we remain with the services of Smith (can you say underperformer), the only thing that is comforting is that there are option in the draft for CB’s, but back to TE’s… I am waiting to be wowed by boy wonder, but I am a bit nervous and not very hopefull. Should Woodson be signed… I’m done being tactful (I will never be rude) and vent out what I has accumulated for years now.

I’m sick of hearing my fellow dolphin fans wine. Ireland is going out and doing what everyone has been screaming for. Explosive WR, CHECK!. Getting younger and more explosive at LB while dropping older under-performing vets. On top of that spending no extra money to upgrade the LB corps. Dansby and Burnett for Elerbe and Wheller, money-wise, is essentially a push. It’s been 1 day, 1 freaking day. 1 very, very successful day. We still have enough money to sign 2 more free agents and then go all in on whatever needs are left in the draft. I read a lot of articles and try to keep up with comments. Frankly most of the so called Fin fans that post should shut the Hell Up and go be a Jets fan already.
