Jeff Ireland is not ready to call it a day.  After big moves earlier in the afternoon, it’s being reported now that the Miami Dolphins have inked LB Phillip Wheeler formerly of the Oakland Raiders.

Wheeler had his best professional season in 2012 and the signing begs the question if Kevin Burnett won’t be following Karlos Dansy out the door.  The deal is likely to be similar to Burnett’s but there is little question that Wheeler has far more upside than Burnett.

So far the Dolphins have been spending like they were crazy but I have heard word that most of these deals look higher than they actually are and the spread of money in 2013 is marginal.  The Dolphins still have not filled the offensive line holes, TE, pass rushing LB or cornerback.

They do however have five draft picks in the first 89 selections of April’s draft.  Stay tuned because I doubt Ireland is done quite yet.
