After an extreme first day of free agency for the Miami Dolphins, and a low-key second day, general manager Jeff Ireland and staff are back on the phones. This time with defensive end Michael Bennett.
It’s tough to beat the great feeling of day one, but Thursday may bring some more excitement for Dolphins fans. Bennett, who is 27 years old, is checking in with South Florida, whether he signs remains to be a question, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
The five-year defensive player recorded 9.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, and 41 total tackles in the 2012 season. His fascination doesn’t stop there. Bennett went to Texas A&M University in 2005-08.
Update: Mike Wallace’s deal consists $3.25 million, so Miami will have some money to play with.
Stay tuned as the staff looks to get a deal done.
