The Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms with free agent guard, Lance Louis. Louis, who was previously a member of the Chicago Bears organization, was unable to come to terms with a new contract for the Chicago Bears. The Bears, who were hoping to keep Louis on the team, must now find someone to replace the 27 year old guard.

Last season, Louis tore his ACL after he was blindsided by Minnesota Vikings defensive end, Jared Allen. If healthy, Louis will certainly help out this offensive line. He can come into training camp and hopefully compete for a starting job at the right guard position. If he can stay healthy throughout camp, Louis has a realistic shot at being the Dolphins right guard on opening day. Current right guard John Jerry has failed to reach his potential and has clearly fallen out of favor with this Dolphins staff.

Louis is a pretty good signing for the Dolphins as they continue to figure out the kinks in the offensive line. Louis will bring in a great amount of experience to this Dolphins team. Before going down with an injury last season, Louis was arguably one of, if not the best offensive lineman on the Bears.

Since he tore his ACL late in the season, the chances that he will be ready to participate in the early Dolphin off season practices and programs are quite slim. Hopefully Louis can re-gain his strength both physically and mentally and make an impact on this Miami Dolphins team.
