Miami Dolphins Working Out DT Sheldon Richardson

According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, the Miami Dolphins are scheduled to host defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson out of Missouri. Richardson is a top prospect at his position, and will more than likely be able at the number 12 spot if Miami wants to take him. Richardson is praised for having light feet for his weight (6 foot 2, 294 pounds) and is incredibly strong.

While Miami may be working out the DT from Missouri, I don’t see the Fins selecting him with their first overall pick in the upcoming draft. Miami already has great depth at the position after franchising Randy Starks and retaining Paul Soliai, while adding Vaughn Martin. Picking Richardson would not make much sense for the Dolphins, unless they were simply taking the best player available.

A lot of reports about the Fins interest in Defensive Tackles but I believe

they need a Defensive END for the other side of Cameron Wake a lot more.

I suppose they are thinking about replacing Randy Starks in 2014 but

    they have more immediate needs……

They also need a Left Tackle and two Cornerbacks more than a DT.
