Chad Johnson who for a short few weeks was a member of the Miami Dolphins was in a Broward County courtroom today for a parole violation. Johnson who failed to keep in touch with his probation officer following his legal run ins last year stood before the court today where the District Attorney’s office asked that Johnson receive jail time.
After both sides had their say, the benched Judge denied the DA’s request and extended the probationary period for Johnson as well as adding on more hours to community service. The judge for the Broward Circuit court then made it clear Johnson should feel lucky.
“You better thank your lawyer. He did a great job for you,” Broward Circuit Court Judge Kathleen McHugh
At that point Chad Johnson once again became Chad Johnson giving his attorney a nice slap on the butt. The judge immediately denied the agreement and sentenced Johnson to 30 days in jail citing the opinion that Johnson was not taking this serious.
In other Dolphins news, DT Randy Starks will make his first off-season appearance tomorrow as the Dolphins open their mini-camp. The mini-camp is mandatory and while Starks has been staying away in hopes of a new deal the OTA’s were not mandatory. Starks has signed his 8 million dollar plus franchise tag contract. The Dolphins are expecting everyone at the camp tomorrow.
