The Miami Dolphins are getting some pre-training camp help from a different kind of West Coast offense. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Lamar Miller is getting some off-season side-by-side workouts with San Francisco RB Frank Gore and some in the room are coming away impressed.
It’s a routine thing for members of the “U” to work out together in the 0ff-season in Miami. It’s been going on for years. To see a young Miami running back who will be leaned heavily upon this season to carry a large workload getting extra work in is a great thing to see. Miller is showing that he is ready to take the next step on the field. Leadership.
The first step in becoming a leader is learning how to listen and take direction and he appears to be doing so. Miller will come into camp the leading back and Miami is relying on him to make fans forget that Reggie Bush is now in Detroit.
Spending time with a proven veteran and learning how to be an NFL RB is a big step in the right direction. No word on whether or not Miller has convinced Gore to put on a Dolphins hat.
