No news is not necessarily good news when it comes to Miami Dolphins TE Dustin Keller. The free agent addition is set to be a big part of a Dolphins offense that uses the position often. According to local media the mood around the Dolphins locker room has been somber and players are ready to accept what seems to be the inevitable news that Keller will be gone for most if not all of the year.
The injury sustained in last nights second quarter was brutal. A helmet to the knee on Keller’s planted leg. His knee contorted backwards and inwards leaving little to doubt an MCL/ACL tear is in his diagnosis. All the team can do now is wait. Little options remain on the street.
Randy McMichael the aging former Miami Dolphins has no job, nor does Jeremy Shockey or Kevin Boss. All three are options the Phins really don’t want to have to look at. Nor Todd Heap. The team will be better served waiting out the next two weeks until teams begin dismantling their 90 player rosters. In the meantime, the team will get a strong look at rookie Dion Jordan, Charles Clay, Michael Egnew, and Kyle Miller. Unfortunately, the list, like that of the free agents, ends there.
