Dolphins Incognito Involved In Off-Field Incident?

Not quite a week removed from being the center of a helmet to face attack by Antonio Smith of the Houston Texans, word is circulating VIA Adam Schefter that Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito may have punched and knocked out an employee of a hotel prior to the start of training camp.

According to Schefter through his sources, Incognito, after a late night out, punched and then knocked out a hotel security guard.  He cites an un-named source that says Incognito was punched first.  The hotel that the incident occurred at has video tape of the incident but has not released it to police or to the NFL.  Thus far there have been no charges filed and no police report has been filed either.  Lending credence that the hotel security guard may have thrown the first punch.

Incognito could be in violation of the leagues conduct policy but until the hotel tape is released there is nothing for the NFL to look at.  The league had no comment on the issue.  According to Schefter through yet another “source” the Dolphins have done everything to “bury” the incident.  Which neither is an indictment of innocence or guilt only that the team didn’t want the distraction of an 0ff-season incident.

Despite his baby-face appearance, Incognito has been labeled one of the dirtiest players in the NFL by many a defensive lineman.  A label he has said he cares nothing about.
