Miami Dolphins Cut Roster Down to 84 Players

The Miami Dolphins didn’t waste any time to commence their roster-trimming process.

The team announced the release of the following players: offensive guards Jeff Braun and Chandler Burden, defensive tackle Chris Burnette, linebacker Alonzo Highsmith and receiver Kenny Stafford (Cris Carter’s nephew).

Miami hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. so all of the players on the bubble of making the 53-man roster will have to showcase their talent.

By Tuesday, the Dolphins — and every NFL team — must cut their roster to 75 players, and by Saturday evening, every roster will be set for 53 players.

It should be an entertaining week for roster transactions. Stay tuned!

Yeah, the game at the Bucs will be the last one for some folks. I don’t think any of these cuts so far have been unexpected. But will Pat Devlin be cut? Reports are Miami might only keep 2 QBs. That would allow them to keep another promising player. Maybe a good idea on the offense. Will Miami sign some players cut by other teams? Maybe an offensive guard?

I think they like Devlin too much, but I also do believe they want to stick with a two quarterback set. I’d keep an eye out on some offensive guards on the free agency market considering Josh Samuda’s first appearance at right guard.
