Dolphins Wake To Good News

The Miami Dolphins had to sweat out an evening of wondering what was wrong with Cameron Wake‘s knee.  Wake left the Falcons game in the 2nd quarter and didn’t return.  He wasn’t thrilled of course.  Today the Dolphins got news that Wake’s injury is a mild MCL sprain and nothing more.

Wake is an important piece of the Dolphins defensive puzzle.  Despite the teams struggles to register “sacks” this year the defense has come up big in the second half.  Especially the 4th quarter.  In the last two weeks Miami’s defensive line has made major stops on challenging opponents to seal the game.  A sack two weeks ago on Andrew Luck came in the waning moments allowing Miami to preserve a victory and yesterday the pressure forced Matt Ryan to throw a wobbler that was picked off by Jimmy Wilson.

Dolphins fans are loving the three and “O” start but losing Wake could have had serious consequences.  While there is no timetable on his return he will be listed on this weeks injury report.  It’s unknown if he will be available next Monday night in New Orleans.
