Miami Dolphins Lose DT Martin For Season

According to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel, the Miami Dolphins have lost DT Vaughn Martin to an apparent injury sustained in Sunday’s 27-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Martin, who made the team after many thought he would be cut for younger and cheaper talent, really did not make his presence felt during his three games with the club recording just one tackle.

Miami has signed DT Marvin Austin to replace Martin in Miami’s 4-3 alignment. The former North Carolina Tar Heel has some upside but it’s a bit concerning considering DT Paul Soliai is injured.

Miami is now incredibly thin at the defensive tackle position. Not to mention the team struggled to stop the run against an Atlanta team missing it’s top running back, Steven Jackson.

Cross your fingers Miami fans that big Paul can get himself healthy. Until then, Miami’s defense may struggle to stop the run.
