The Miami Dolphins have experienced a series of injuries to their defense, specifically the defensive line (Paul Soliai and Cameron Wake), and Tuesday general manager Jeff Ireland went out and found an extra body.

Defensive tackle Marvin Austin, who was a second-round selection by the New York Giants in 2011, has landed a deal with the Dolphins, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

In the 2012-13 season, the 24-year-old played eight games and recorded eight tackles before being waived this past preseason.
