Solphins’ Unbiased Week 5 NFL Power Ranking

Power Rankings around the internet are something everyone looks at. They are analyzed and scrutinized, for the problem with Power Rankings are they are completely opinionated. This in itself takes the credibility out of these rankings and people stop looking at the rankings and pay more attention to the writer.

In my opinion, the Rankings should be done mathematically. Instead of speculating where a team should be, the team should earn its spot. I have developed a system that gives each team a score. That score is put in place since week 1 and is the same equation for each team.

The score is based on 3 elements:
1. The win/loss record of the team.
2. The win/loss record of the teams they have played.
3. The points differential. (Since the NFL is a most points win game.)

*Notes*

The Denver Broncos have outscored their opponents by 88 points. The Jaguars have been outscored by 98 points, (which would be 200 points if Tebow was their QB, right).

The Falcons and Jaguars have played the toughest schedule. The Dolphins have played the toughest schedule with a winning record. The Chiefs have played the softest schedule.
