The Miami Dolphins are back to football after practicing for their first time following their bye week. With the team getting a week off you would anticipate a majority of the players to come back healthy.
- This has been true for corner back Dmitri Patterson who returned to the practice field after missing close to a month as he has been battling through a tough groin injury. Patterson’s presence in the secondary has definitely been missed over the past month as the Dolphins rank towards the bottom of the league in terms of pass defense.
- Another key piece for the Dolphins was back in uniform and on the practice field. Pro Bowl defensive end, Cameron Wake fully participated in both team and individual activities today at practice. Wake, who suffered a knee injury in the game against Atlanta is set to return to full strength this week.
- The biggest news coming out of Dolphins camp today was starting linebacker, Dannell Ellerbe was unable to practice. Ellerbe, who injured his shoulder in the game two weeks ago against the Baltimore Ravens was seen on the sidelines working with the teams trainers. The Dolphins are unsure if he will be able to go on Sunday against the Bills.
- Also, defensive tackle Paul Soliai and Michael Egnew were absent from today’s practice for unspecified reasons.
Outside of today’s news, other players to keep an eye on is corner back Nolan Carrol, who suffered a a rib injury against the Ravens and linebacker Koa Misi who is currently fighting a shoulder injury.
