Solphins’ Unbiased Week 7 NFL Power Rankings

Power Rankings around the internet are something everyone looks at. They are analyzed and scrutinized, for the problem with Power Rankings are they are completely opinionated. This in itself takes the credibility out of these rankings and people stop looking at the rankings and pay more attention to the writer.

In my opinion, the Rankings should be done mathematically. Instead of speculating where a team should be, the team should earn its spot. I have developed a system that gives each team a score. That score is put in place since week 1 and is the same equation for each team.

The score is based on 3 elements:
1. The win/loss record of the team.
2. The win/loss record and strength of the teams they have played.
3. The points differential. (Since the NFL is a most points win game.)

The reason why the Dolphins dropped so far, when they didn’t play, is because every team they played this year lost this week. They are also the only team with a winning record and a negative points differential.
