Cameron Wake’s season has not fully lived up to his expectations due to his knee injury, but his latest award is well deserved.

Wake, who closed Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a game-winning safety sack, was honored with the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the NFL. Wake sacked Bengals’ quarterback Andy Dalton three times in the 22-20 overtime victory.

The five-year defensive end has recorded 5.5 sacks, 13 tackles and one forced fumble thus far in the 2013-14 season.
