Headed into this week’s game on Monday Night against Tampa Bay the Dolphins have been getting more media attention than ever before. Unfortunately, none of this attention is positive. We all know what has been going on. Actually, no one really knows what has been going on. As the weekend draws near, I believe that it is time to shift all of our focus on football. After all, the Dolphins are a professional football organization, not a side show.
With everything that has been going on with this team as of late, the news about kicker Caleb Sturgis, has been quite overshadowed. Sturgis was limited in Thursday’s practice due to a groin injury.
Sturgis started off the first five games of career going 10/11 on field goal attempts. Since then, the 24 year old rookie out of the University of Florida has been having his fair share of issues. Since the hot start, Sturgis has missed five out of his last eight field goal attempts.
With the news coming out that he has been nursing a groin injury, things are starting to make a little bit more sense as to why he has cooled off over the past couple of weeks. The groin injury dates back to training camp, where he was forced to miss three weeks of action.
