NFL Tells Miami Not To Meet With Martin

Apparently the NFL is taking this investigation very seriously.  Last night Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said publicly he would fly to California and meet with Jonathan Martin.  The NFL has asked them not to meet with him.  Martin through his camp has publicly stated he does not want to return to Miami and the NFL seems to feel that a meeting with Ross may skew the perspective of Martin.

This entire thing is an absolute joke at this point.  Every news media outlet has suddenly found an “inside source” willing to talk specifically with them.  From Sports Illustrated to and ESPN to all the local papers and every other media outlet covering this someone “knows something” that someone else does not.  With a quick trigger finger they will be more than happy to tell you about what they think they might know.

It’s smart to keep Ross from meeting with the lineman because Ross can ill afford to have any more perceived mistakes and meeting with Martin can do nothing more than blow up in his face.  The fact he wanted and was willing to meet with Martin is enough.

This saga is far from over.  The latest rumors have rookie Dion Jordan involved to some degree, has both Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin packing up their offices, and the latest team issued fine for being “too soft”.  Not likely to end any time soon.
