Davone Bess Arrested In Ft. Lauderdale

It’s safe to say that the trade Miami made with Cleveland for Davone Bess will go down as at least a smart move by then GM Jeff Ireland.  Not looking so good for the Browns though.  Early this morning Bess was arrested at the Ft. Lauderdale airport for an altercation with a police officer.

Bess was described as being “on something” and “looking through” the officer during questions.  Bess was later hit in the leg with a baton after taking a “fighters stance” towards the officer.  Bess was inactive for the Browns the final two weeks of the season on an unknown disciplinary action.  He later posted a picture of himself surrounded by Bob Marley paraphernalia smoking what looked to be a joint.

In Miami Bess was the go-to WR but Jeff Ireland opted to trade the WR to the Browns during last April’s draft after signing several WR’s in free agency.

If past performance is any indication, the charges will also be dropped.

Getting rid of Ireland wasn’t a great move. Should have kept Ireland and Philbin together for one more year then either keep both or clean house. Ireland didn’t get the credit he deserved…as much as I like Bess when he was in Miami he looked lost in Cleveland and Gibson was filling in nicely till he go hurt.
