Only one game remains before the end of the 2013-2014 NFL season and the start of the 2014-2015 NFL season . While the winner of Super Bowl XLVII (I am personally rooting for the Denver Broncos) will have a year of bragging rights, almost immediately after the conclusion of the game teams will begin looking at Free Agency and the upcoming NFL draft to bolster their rosters and prepare for next season. Few teams have made more changes to their rosters or organization than the Miami Dolphins have the past two seasons. While Miami dominated the Free Agency last year, they drafted rather poorly. This draft will be the first draft of Miami’s new GM. Who is the new GM? That, among other things, remains a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is what positions in the draft Miami will make their selections. Here is a look at Miami’s draft slots, per round (barring any future trades or changes).
Round 1: 19th overall.
Round 2: 18th in the round, 50th overall.
Round 3: 17th in the round, 81st overall.
Round 4: 16th in the round, 112th overall.
Round 5: 15th in the round, 143rd overall.
Round 6: 14th in the round, 174th overall.
Round 7: 19th in the round, 211th overall.
The Dolphins, as of now, have 7 picks, one pick for each round. It would not be surprising to see that number increase or decrease depending on Miami’s off-season activity. It will be both nerve-wracking and exciting to see what the ‘Phins’ new GM does in his/her first season.
