Knowshon Mareno To Visit Dolphins...Honest!

Earlier this week a savvy reader tipped me off to an ESPN report that the Miami Dolphins were interested in the former Denver Bronco running back.  He may have slightly over exaggerated the report to me and, well, I wrote up a quick article and away the chaos went.  At the same time, Jake Mendel, a former staff writer here and now a writer at Cover-32 posted a Tweet about the Dolphins having interest.  Combine the two and all hell broke loose.

Well…here we are few days removed and the Miami Herald is now reporting that Mareno will visit the Dolphins on Friday.  It will be his first visit of this free agency period.  The Dolphins are looking for a back that can lighten the load of Lamar Miller who behind a putrid line last season didn’t do all that well.  Mareno won’t find much room to run either if the Dolphins don’t find a solution to their right side line.

The Dolphins currently have between 19 and 20 million to play with.

Not sure I like Moreno given the depth of RB’s in the draft, but hey, he would be an instant upgrade!

I agree with the draft depth at RB. On the flipside, its deep in other areas, and signing Moreno would allow us to take someone else…so I’d take that instant upgrade and happily bank a day two WR or TE we might not get otherwise.
