The Miami Dolphins have been quiet lately. Sure they inked Knowshown Moreno but outside of that, it’s crickets. In New York, the Jets haven’t been so quiet. Oh they haven’t signed anyone recently of note but Rex Ryan will normally say something that raises eyebrows or gets another Jets fan all riled up over nothing.
Well it’s being reported that former Miami Dolphins CB Dimitri Patterson is now heading to New York for a visit. If Miami’s luck holds true, Patterson will sign, become a high profile All-Pro corner and stay healthy the rest of his time with the Patriots. Oh wait, that’s right he isn’t visiting the Patriots it’s the Jets. Dimitri Patterson will likely make a lot of money and have only a marginal impact on the roster for New York…both marginal impacts will of course occur when they face Miami.
In all seriousness though, it would be nice to bring Patterson back to Miami on an incentive laden deal. Patterson was an asset in the six games he played, the problem was he only played six games.
Patterson would be the third former secondary member to leave via free agency. Nolan Carroll has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, Chris Clemons signed last week with the Houston Texans.
