It has been a rumor all day but now, Ben Volin formerly of the Palm Beach Host and now of the Boston Globe, is reporting that the New England Patriots will face the Miami Dolphins, in Miami to open the 2014 season. The Dolphins last hosted the Patriots to open a season in 2011 where they lost 38-24 in front of 66,000 fans. This year, the Dolphins will try and improve on their two year streak of home opening wins. They beat the Atlanta Falcons last year and the Oakland Raiders the year before in week two.
Volin is also reporting that the Buffalo Bills will face the Patriots in week 17 of the season which likely means the Dolphins will either play host or wrap their season up with the New York Jets.
While the rest of the schedule is not out quite yet, we do know that the season will kick off on Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers visiting the Super Bowl reigning champion Seattle Seahawks.
In another early day rumor regarding Miami’s schedule, a Baltimore radio station earlier said the Dolphins would host the Ravens on Thanksgiving night however other information about the Ravens schedule has thus been proven inaccurate.
We will have all the breaking news about this years schedule up on site as we learn them. The schedule will be released in full at 8:00 Eastern.
